NIPT, (non-invasive prenatal testing) is a blood test that screens for specific chromosomal conditions such as Patau’s Syndrome, Edwards’ Syndrome, Down’s Syndrome. NIPT analyses small fragments of your baby’s DNA. The DNA is found in your own blood. It’s a safe screening option with no risk at all to your pregnancy.
As well as NIPT we provide early gender blood tests for those who would like to discover if your baby will be a girl or a boy. Usually you have to wait until you have an ultrasound scan to find out, but with this screening test you don’t have to.
Both blood tests are carried out at our luxury clinic in Wigan in person using a blood sample. Our team will carry out the blood test, you can ask questions and everything will be clearly explained to you when you arrive for your appointment.
NIPT screening and early gender testing are helpful options during pregnancy. NIPT screening uses a maternal blood sample to assess the risks of certain chromosomal conditions, Early gender testing analyses fetal DNA in the mother’s bloodstream to determine the baby’s sex from an early stage of pregnancy.

Baby Scan and Beyond is easy to reach from Wirral. Wigan town centre offers convenient access by both train and by car. Travelling from Wirral by train usually involves taking a Merseyrail service to Liverpool, followed by a connecting train from Liverpool Lime Street to Wigan. From Birkenhead Hamilton Square, the fastest complete journeys take around 45 minutes, although most train journeys take approximately one hour. By car, Wigan is around 22 miles from Birkenhead and the journey usually takes between 40 minutes and one hour, depending on how busy the traffic is and from where in Wirral you set off.
